Good Practices in Digitisation – A Survey
Mapping Projects of Digitisation of Cultural Heritage and Good Practices Hebrew Page The questionnaires of this survey are available at the bottom of this page. MINERVA is a network of Ministries to harmonize activities carried out in digitization of cultural and scientific content. The network has been collecting examples of digitisation projects from different countries through its good practices survey. These have been uploaded to: http://www.minervaeurope.org/listgoodpract.htm In concert with other European projects and leading Jewish institutions we have decided to define the scope of our survey as follows:
We are interested in projects of digitization whether they include or not an element of good practice.
We intend to map projects and good practices in digitisation of Jewish Cultural Heritage in Europe, America and Israel. The engagement of leading Jewish institutions has been achieved (see below).
The mapping of projects in Israel is comprehensive and and include the Jewish, Islamic, Arab, Christian and Druze heritage
The examples of good practices in digitisation of Jewish Cultural Heritage to be identified in Europe will be reported to the specific country representative in the National Representatives Group, the policy body that steers the MINERVA project activities.
The NRG representatives will be contacted in view of having their help in identifying projects of digitisation of Jewish Cultural Heritage available in the institutions of their respective countries.
The institutions committed to this enlarged scope of the digitisation survey include: The National Foundation for Jewish Culture (North America) – http://www.jewishculture.org ; The Institute for Jewish Policy Research and the European Association for Jewish Culture http://www.jpr.org.uk and http://www.jewishcultureineurope.org/ ; The European Day of Jewish Culture http://www.jewishheritage.org/edojc/index.php/en/ organised by B'nai B'rith Europe, the European Council of Jewish Communities, and Red de Juderias de Espana-Caminos de Sefarad. The Jewish Agency for Israel jointly with the Ministry of Science and Technology are the MINERVA partners for Israel. The survey results survey will become available online and will be also published in a printed form serving as the ground for a planned policy paper in this area.
